To our friends and neighbors,
We are so thankful for your support and cooperation offered during these strange and trying times. We consider ourselves active members of our Austin community, and we feel responsible for doing our part, nay, our BEST, to keep our staff and patrons safe during the pandemic.
To help our employees, we are:
Offering unlimited paid sick leave in 2020
Offering a stipend to pay for cleaning and home health supplies
Covering health insurance for full-timers whose hours have been cut
To protect the health of both staff and patrons, we are:
Recording and monitoring employee temperatures at beginning of shift
Requiring masks inside our stores and outside our outdoor locations
Requiring frequent hand washing and disinfecting of high-touch areas
Encouraging patrons to use our mobile ordering platform for curbside pickup
Restructuring our POS systems to minimize contact points
Discontinuing cash transactions
Following CDC guidelines. CDC-provided FAQs regarding takeout are available here.
As members of the community, we are doing our part to help those most affected by the pandemic. So far, we have donated:
$5,000 worth of soup to more than 270 caregivers at Dell Children’s Hospital
Thousands of gallons of soup to Keep Austin Fed
Gift cards and merchandise for benefit auctions at Help Austin Now
We will continue to operate with our takeout and curbside options until we feel confident that opening our dining rooms won’t put our staff or customers at undue risk of infection. For further specificity on our protocol, please email souppeddler@souppeddler.com.
Thank you, Austin, for helping us get through this the best way we know how: together.
Much Love,
The Soup Peddler
